If you are not already aware of the Skoll Foundation, it might be worth a look. This organisation is funded generously (think billions) by the founder of eBay and it aims to “invest” in social entrepreneurs like a VC would invest in a biotech firm. Although I sometimes find the information too focused on international poverty or health, there are still lessons in all the information presented. I am not suggesting I don’t care about those issues, but I would like to see more on the domestic side – addressing serious issues inside the “wealthy” countries. A good way to engage with the foundation is to subsribe to their e-newsletter as it does a good job of pointing out new/changing features of the website.
A blog found through the site lately has provided some comfort to the daily struggle to change the world. Suggested reading to gain that ever elusive perspective.
