Customer Service

TibeggSocial enterprises must realize that doing good or being good is not good enough. In fact, because many of the social enterprises today run a fine line between sustainability and fund thirsty–they need to focus on their most precious asset: their customer.

This means paying attention to the little details of your product, service, marketing, care, etc. All the things that will touch your existing or potential customers. Why? Because you need customers and customers usually don’t need you.

To keep reminding yourself that customers don’t always tell you…but they sure tell others about how bad you might be or were: Read Mark Hurst’s blog: This is Broken. While you are at it, get to know an associate/friend of Mark’s: Seth Godin. Trust me, none of us are perfect and we all need to be reminded. Think of these guys as the annoying fitness instructor that keeps reminding you to go workout: you know you should…..don’t wait until your weight is a health risk.

*Look to the categories on the left side of the “broken” blog to get to the heart of your sector in social enterprise.
