I blogged about TED back in July. Wow! Has it been that long…?
But it is worth another mention as they continue to post a video from the 2006 conference on their blog each week. I took a break on the bus a few days back and watched two really interesting presentations. One was on astro physics (yes it was interesting! see below) and the other on Wikipedia. Although the content is interesting to me, it is the ideas presented and proposed that really get me fired up. My process is as follows:
1. Watch TED presentation.
2. Enjoy content, learning something new.
3. Laterally match content with my daily context.
4. Dream up ways to modify what I just learned to work in environments not set up for the original idea.
Most of the time nothing comes of this exercise, except I exercise my brain. However, sometimes I get inspired to work through an idea and its application in my world of social enterprise. It might be a small thing related to presentation improvement or a huge concept that we kick around. No matter, it is the process that is important.
So go on…watch some TED and get your juices flowing.
