Entrepreneurial reality, even at the top

Lightbulb
As the saying goes,
"If you have a great idea, don’t worry about anyone stealing it. If it is really good, you will have to hit them over the head with it to get them to notice."

Apparently it’s even more difficult than you imagine. Forget unproven entrepreneurs, even Steve Jobs (CEO of Apple) has difficulty pitching his ideas. Seth Godin points out that one of the main reasons you can’t get the powerful partner to  take your idea on board may be because you are disrupting the status quo.

I used to play on the inside of a massive American corporation and I can attest to the importance they place on the status quo. It gets worse when the decision makers feel they must create ideas from inside only – to justify their position(s)…making the fatal mistake that they already know more than anyone outside the corporation.

Disruptive ideas are important to progress, it’s just that those marking progress usually don’t recognize them.
