New Year, Customer Focus

Ahhh! A new year. A time to restart the engines, refocus the efforts and grow your enterprise to support your mission.

We often talk about not being everything to everyone because you likely end up being nothing to nobody. What’s also true is that you can make your message to specific or focus too specific that you end up with no market. One of my favourite bloggers (Seth Godin) points out that you still need to keep it smart, focused and meaningful or you will be attracting the "everyone" that will surely overwhelm your business.

Making things happen requires, and that includes attracting customers and stakeholders, requires clarity and precision. Don’t dumb your message down to appease, attract, or otherwise generalise your product/service/etc.

Happy New Year!
